Jennifer Mahowald
Jennifer Mahowald serves as the Paralegal at Cortes Immigration Law Firm, where she brings her expertise in legal matters. In 2011, she successfully completed her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from the Minnesota School of Business. Jennifer’s professional journey commenced with an internship at the Hennepin County (Minnesota) Co-Parent Court, during which she gained invaluable courtroom exposure in family law. Working closely with the program Judge and Court Clerks, she obtained firsthand experience and contributed significantly to the development of essential resources, including program templates and the paralegal intern handbook. Jennifer holds the distinction of being the first paralegal intern to collaborate with the Hennepin County Courts. Following her graduation, Jennifer embarked on a diverse legal career, prior to specializing in immigration law. She honed her skills in various fields, including family, criminal, and real estate law, encompassing critical areas like land use and eminent domain. Her involvement in high-stakes cases involving matters such as high asset divorces, custody disputes, evictions, and commercial real estate closings equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the legal system. Throughout her professional journey, Jennifer has recognized the importance of prioritizing individuals. Jennifer’s unwavering commitment to empathy, support, and effective communication has served as a cornerstone of every interaction with clients. Beyond her professional pursuits, Jennifer finds solace and fulfillment in spending quality time with her family. In her leisure hours, she indulges in the artistic pursuit of painting, enjoys immersing herself in literature, and takes pleasure in the companionship of her three cats and dog.
